PT Sentana Adidaya Pratama (SADP) was established in 1999, with fertilizer trading as its first business using the Pupuk Mahkota brand. PT SADP is a subsidiary of Wilmar Group Indonesia, one of the world's largest agribusiness companies, particularly in the CPO and its derivatives sector.
In its early development, Pupuk Mahkota focused on importing and distributing high-quality and affordable fertilizers needed by plantations and agriculture, especially oil palm plantations. The products included single fertilizers such as KCl (Potassium Chloride) and Rock Phosphate.
Pupuk Mahkota has grown significantly, driven by the high demand for NPK (compound fertilizer) and the increasing awareness of plantation consumers about balanced and efficient fertilization management. PT SADP met this challenge by building its own NPK factory (steam granulation) located in Dumai Industrial State, Riau Province. The rapid growth of oil palm plantations since 2002 has become a key driver of the national economy, motivating Pupuk Mahkota to continue expanding its NPK fertilizer plants as a form of active contribution to Indonesia's economic progress. Currently, the company operates 6 NPK fertilizer plants with a capacity of over 1 million metric tons per year.
